...President’s Messages...

September

Dear Sisters,

Wow! It is hot. Cooler weather is hopefully around the corner. Congratulations to our sister, Rosa Saldivar on the arrival of her new daughter, Isabella. I hope mom is getting some much needed rest and can't wait to see the baby.
Thank you to Janise Capaul, Marolyn O'Neill, Ruth Robison, Sandy Duncan and Mary Anne Brayton for providing cookies, and serving refreshments at the "Priest for Life" presentation. YLI ladies never fail to make me proud.
Thanks to Pat Fontana and her team of Grand 2nd Vice President Lana Hanney and PGP Marilynn Walter, the "Officer's Symposium" was a hug success. It was well attended, informative and a delight to the the Grand President, Joan Vandehey, with us we learned how to better serve our institute.
The spiritual moment this year is "When I joined YLI and what I enjoy most about my membership." This will hopefully encourage members to think on their membership and enlighten us to know our members better. If you would like to participate, let me know.
The visiting committee always needs sisters to do the visiting each month. The committee list is shaping up nicely. Thank you to all who have volunteered so far.
Congratulations June McJunkin on your appointment as our District Deputy and Carol Horning on your appointment as District Secretary/Treasurer.
Thank you to Kathy Bolick, Our Lady for Grace #206 from Grass Valley , for accepting her appointment as our Institute Deputy. I look forward to seeing you and your traveling buddies in the months to come.
Good times are ahead: Bunko, Official Visits, the "Meal of Thanksgiving", District Deputy Official Visit, the Christmas Boutique and Christmas Party, to name a few.
Check your calendars and make time for all the fun yet to be had.

In Sisterly Love,

Nita

October

Dear Sisters,

Fall is here already. Preparation is underway for the Boutique and Christmas Raffle for Seminarian Aid and our Charities. We are working on getting the committees organized for the year. Please call me if you can help in any way. We need some ideas for social this year. Please call Adri or myself if you can chair or work on a social. Many hands make light work!
Pat Fontana presented a greeting card fundraiser at the last meeting. When the cards arrive, sales will begin.
Thank you for prayers for my husband, Bill. He spent some time in the hospital getting prepared for his dialysis treatment. He is home now and goes for his treatment. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated.

In Sisterly Love,

Nita

Sacramento Diocese of Catholic Women
As members of St. Isidore YLI #235, we are an affiliate of the Marysville Deanery. The Deanery meets quarterly. Our institute will be hosting the November meeting. It is a good way to meet other ladies in the Deanery. Affiliates are: Catholic Ladies Relief #2, Marysville; Catholic Daughter Court #649, Marysville; CLRS #4, Colusa; St. Monica YLI #111, Willows to name a few in the area. Pat Carvo is the president of the Marysville Deanery this year.

WELCOME NEW MEMBER, SHARON MOXON!
Sharon was initiated at a recent YLI meeting. She is excited about her membership.

Ordination

Deacon Ruel Mesa, one of our adopted seminarians, was ordained on Friday, August 22nd. Our Institute gave him an ordination gift of $100.00. We look forward to hearing about his assignment in our Diocese.
