President’s Message

Dear Sisters,

I want to commend the members on their support of the Housewarming for our sisters of the Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary.  Your generosity was wonderful.

Thank you to the ladies who helped at the Ministry Fair for our Parish.  Many had to do double time because of their involvement in other ministries.  A job well done ladies.  The Ministry Fair was an excellent way to get information to parishioners about our organization.  Membership is really one of our priorities.  Since membership is the responsibility of all members, you will find an application attached to your newsletter.  Please put this in your glove compartment of your car so it is easily accessible to give to a potential new member.  We need your help bringing in new members.  Thank you!

All of us have great ideas and opinions.  Let us always remember that we should encourage participation, accept another’s way of doing things, and follow the principles of Young Ladies Institute – Unity, Protection, and Sisterly Love.

God bless each one of you!

                                                                                    Carol

Dear Sisters,

We are all home from an interesting and exciting Grand Convention.  Our spirits are renewed through the joys of praying, working, and playing together.  We saw so much: the culmination of a year’s hard work in serving those we see and the farewell of our grand officers including Grand Chaplain Fr. Richard Deitch.  At the same time, we welcomed our new grand officers including our new Grand Chaplain Fr. Tom Hamilton.  Among those new grand officers is our own Grand Director Lana Hanney.
Running for a grand office is a lot of hard work and commitment for a candidate and her institute: the higher the office, the greater the commitment.  You voted to support me as a candidate for Grand Second Vice President.  Thank you so much for all that you did to help at the convention and for your support before the convention.  I am proud to say that I am from St. Isidore #235.  I want to offer a special thank you to Leona, Luci, Pat G., Jerry, Carol, Patti, Nita, and Barbara.  You were there and you were great.  You campaigned so hard.  I also want to thank all of you who worked and waited at home.  Each of you gave me something special – a hug, a prayer, hundreds of pinned cards, numerous handwritten fliers, etc.  I appreciate you so much.  I wish the final vote could have been different.  Unfortunately, it was not my time to be elected Grand Second Vice President.  As Fr. Deitch pointed out in one of his talks, sometimes God’s answer is “no”.  We will have to wait and see what the future holds.
It is now time to look forward and determine what we can do for YLI.  Again please accept my thanks for all of you prayers, encouragement, and support.  I could not have done this without you.

With much love,

June McJunkin
