President’s Message

Dear Sisters,

The busy season of Christmas has past. Many members had family visiting or traveled during the holidays. I am sure each one looked forward to January - a great mmonth to relax, slow down, and enjoy the quiet moments. Of course, the stores have been ready for Valentine's Day since New Year's.

I am looking forward to seeing many members at our Grand President's Official Visit in February. I invite everyone to bring their mothers, daughters, and friends to the Lenten Retreat planned for the end of February. This is a great way to start the Lenten season. Deacon Eldon Vignery will lead us on this retreat. We are so fortunate to have our own Sppiritual Leader helping us prepare our Journey of Faith during Lent. Towards the end of Lent, Beverly Vignery invites us to bring our friends to "Mary's Way of the Cross". When I read about the war casualties, I feel Mary's sorrow and wish the mothers of these victims could feel Mary's comfort and understanding. I hope everyone has a very happy Valentine's Day. Spread the Love in your heart!

Annual Birthday Dinner

We are celebrating our 30th Birthday!

Saturday, March 10, 2007 after the 5:00 p.m. Mass - Quarterly Communion

Place TBA in the next newsletter. Mark you calendar.

Spouses and friends are invited!

In every loving family, God loves.

In every suffering family, God suffers.

In every laughing family, God laughs.

In every family which seeks, God lets himself be discovered.

Come! We will build the Church as a family, forming the people of God.

Taken from a song by Juan Carlos Garrigos Perez for the Vatican sponsored Fifth World Meeting of Families held in Valencia, Spain in July 2006.

~Holiday Basket Note of Thanks ~

Please accept my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the sisters who helped make our Seminarian Aid fundraiser a success. Thanks especially to my committee members: Glenna Jo Adamski, Catherine Haynes, Carol Horning and Adri Sartorio. Only four sisters won this year: Amarel's Ceramics 15 piece Nativity Scene...Cory Ubaldo; Christ Child Wall Plaque...Mary Basterrechea; $20 Kohl's Gift Certificate...Phyllis Parks; and Curio Cabinet...Tina Moscuzza. We raised $2,351 for our charities account, a majority of which will be donated to the Bishop of Sacrmento for seminarian aid. Thank you for your ongoing support of this important project.
