President’s Message

Dear Sisters,

As we start this new Y.L.I. year, I look forward to a wonderful year. The Grand President, Joanne Muniz, has given us a terrific program to enrich our own Institutes by asking ourselves, "What can I do for Y.L.I?" We will be working on special interests within our institute. We are hoping for 100% participation. It should be a great experience for everyone. Special emphasis this year will be on membership, visitation of members not able to attend meetings, bringing a sister to a social, lending a helping hand to a fellow sister, and praying for one another. I truly feel that if we all work together we will strengthen the principles of our founders - "Unity, Sisterly Love and Protection." We do so much good as an institute. In future newsletters we will be reporting on some of the awesome information we received at Grand Convention. Young Ladies Institute is an awesome group of Catholic Women. God bless each one of you.

Visiting Committee

I am in need of a few more volunteers for visiting the members on our sick list. During that time you and your partner will contact each sister on the sick list in person or by phone. You may do this together or alone. It is your choice. A phone call is suggested first to set up a time. Also, by phone you ask if a visit is wanted. At times, for a variety of reasons, it is inconvenient to have a home visit.

Please jot down a few words after each visit. It will be easy to make a report at our Business Meeting.

I will contact you before your scheduled month. We need volunteers for the following times:

August 11 - September 14

November 11 - December 14

December 15 - January 11

May 11 - June 13 (One volunteer needed)
