President’s Message

April

Dear Sisters,

A YLI sister shared with me a very powerful verse which we can reflect on as we prepare ourselves for the Holy Week, Good Friday, and Easter. "Forgiveness is unlocking the door to set someone free, realizing you are the prisoner." This goes hand in hand with Fr. Francisco's homily about "reconciliation". Make this Lenten season a positive action, you can forgive and reconcile with those you have not talked to because of something real simple you both disagreed a week ago, a month ago, a year ago, or 10 years ago. Invite that person to come over and share your Easter celebration. Go to Mass together if you can. Let us pray and remember our sisters who cannot share Mass with us. Happy Easter and God Bless You All!

Convention 2010 in Sacramento
June 27 - July 1
Patti Reardon is the chairperson from St. Isidore for the hostesses. Please let her know what days and times you would be willing to be a hostess. She will submit your specific time to the Head Chairperson. We need names now and instructions will be given closer to convention. The convention is at the Double Tree Hotel across from Arden Fair Mall.

Convention 2010 Opportunity Drawing

The 2010 Convention Committee is holding a raffle to raise funds to help defray convention costs. The tickets are to be sold for $5.00 each or three tickets for $10.00.

Prizes:

1st place $1000.00
2nd place $ 500.00
3rd place $ 200.00
4th place $ 100.00

The drawing will be held at convention during the District Luncheon on June 30, 2010.
Each institute in District 7 was given 30 tickets per member to sell.
Please contact Barbara Smith for the number of tickets you feel you can sell.

Prayer Pals

We have started a new Spiritual Project in the Institute called Prayer Pals. Three names are drawn each month and the members pray for them.
The names drawn go back into the Prayer Box and can be drawn again. Names for this month are: Ilene Schmitz, Barbara Smith, and Mary Louise Love.

Grand President's Program
The Third Trimester starts in March: Live Up (Sisterly Love)
We must take care of the members we have.

~ Sunshine Committee ~
We have established a sunshine committee to bring a little sunshine to our members.
The Sunshine Committee will be different from our Visiting Committee. Sunshine will be checking on members we rarely see, our elderly, infirmed sisters, and our out of town members. This will be an ongoing committee even after the Grand President's program as ended. We need members who would like to help spread the sunshine. Please contact Carol Horning if you are interested.
