Message from the President

Dear Sisters,

The past year has gone by so fast. As I look over the events of the year, I am amazed at all that the Young Ladies Instituted #235 packs into a year. Every member needs to pat herself on the back for her outstanding efforts towards making the year a successful one. The variety of activities; the people, communities we touch; the spiritual outreach; the personal commitments; the new blossoming friendships encountered; along with the enduring warmth of community makes YLI #235 a tower of strength. Our place in this changing world is more evident each day as through our activities we bring about a balance of he spiritual, corporal, inspirational and personal works of mercy to our church and community. I wish to thank every member for making this a wonderful year in my life with YLI. Please remember that each member has an important role in the Unity of our Institute. I have enjoyed your company, I affirm your commitment and I leave you with a "smile."

Please remember in your prayers those that are carrying a cross, be it physical health, emotional or personal. Please remember the deceased members of our institute and all our sisters in YLI. Keep a smile on your face, a prayer in your heart, and "Let God" do the rest.

Peace be with you!

Carol

Visit to Shriner's Hospital in Sacramento

On Thursday, May 16 a group of ladies went to the Shriner's Hospital in Sacramento for a tour of the facility. "It was awesome," I was told. Richard, a Shriner, took the ladies through the many parts of the hospital. They were able to see the molds for the making of prosthetics, one of the rooms for parents and much, much more. The ladies delivered the many gifts donated by our YLI members for the children in the hospital. Thank you for your generosity. Hopefully, another trip will be possible in the future. Thanks, Patti, for organizing the tour and collecting the donations.
