Mañanitas December 12, 2004
Everyone started gathering well before the 5 a.m. Mañanitasor early-morning Mass, some arriving before 3:30 a.m. The Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe would be followed with hot chocolate and pan dulces (sweetbread) to warm our bodies, as well as our souls. Over 1800 faithful attended the early morning Mass, coming from throughout Northern California. Today is the culmination of several days of tribute to Our Lady, which began on December 4 with nightly novenas held at our church. Later today, around 11:00 a.m., a procession would begin in the Richland Housing area and proceed to St. Isidore for the 1 p.m. Mass and reception.
