Parish Library The parish library, located in the Brides Room off the vestibule of the Church, is open for about 30 minutes after all weekend English Masses, and often after the Sunday Spanish Mass. Our collection has over 2,000 items, most of which have been donated by parishioners. We have books, tapes, CD's and videos available for a two-week check out time. We also have several Catholic magazines available at no charge. Please take the time to look over our growing collection of books, tapes and videos. The audio, video and written subjects address our faith, Christian values, families, seasonal celebrations and everyday Catholic practices. The Library Catalog is available on line and requires
Adobe Reader. You can download and keep a copy of the catalog for your
reference.Click here for
our catalog in PDF format. We are always looking for volunteers to help in the library. It only takes 20 to 30 minutes after Mass to help out. Contact our volunteer coordinator Mabel Matthews through the Parish Office (673-1573) if you would like to help with the library committee or volunteer in the library. If you have any questions contact Liz Bell or Jill Thompson through the Parish Office (673-1573). |

Inspirations Following are quotes from saints about the value of good spiritual reading. Even Pope John Paul II's spirituality was strongly influenced by a good Catholic bookhe took his motto "Totus Tuus" (I am all Thine) from St. Louis de Montfort. John Paul II enthusiastically endorsed the Saint's Marian teachings and long studied his doctrine and the Saint's book "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin". St. Jerome says that when we pray we speak to God; but when we read, God speaks to us. St. Alphonsus tells us that without good books and spiritual reading it will be morally impossible to save our souls. St. John Bosco said that only God knows the good that can come about by reading one good Catholic book. St. Augustine, St. Ignatius of Loyola, and St. John Colombino all left the world and dedicated their lives completely to God after reading a good spiritual book. |
