St. Isidore Parish Lenten Mission Week
February 27 - March 3 2005

Our Lenten Parish Mission this year was led by Fr. Ed Roden-Lucero, the Pastor of San Juan Diego Parish in El Paso, TX and a close friend of our Pastor, Fr. Manuel Soria.

Below is the agenda from this year's Mission along with pictures from our Soup Supper that preceded each evenings presentation. We averaged 75-85 at dinner each evening, with over 200 attended each presentation. The Mission provided food for our body and our soul. Thank you Fr. Ed.

Sunday Mass Homily - The People of God Meet Jesus at the Well

February 27
Sunday - Domingo
All Sunday Masses
Homily - The People of God Meet Jesus at the Well: The Samaritan woman who "accidentally" runs into Jesus at the well. Her life is marked by rejection, instability, ridicule and separation from God. Hers is not merely a physical thirst. Jesus recognizes the thirst in her heart and soul and refreshes her. It is in the same way that Jesus reaches out to us inviting us to find refreshment for our souls parched by the challenging circumstances of our own lives.

The Eucharist: Drawing from the Well of Justice
February 28
Monday - Lunes
7:00 p.m. (English)
The Eucharist - Drawing from the Well of Justice: A scriptural and historical reflection on the place of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. Mass is not a private devotion. It is the public worship of the baptized as a living and active community of faith. As public worship, the celebration of the Eucharist should motivate the community to put Catholic Social Teaching into action. The Lord hears the cry of the poor. Do we?

Healing of Memories: Drawing from the Well of Mercy
March 1
Tuesday - Martes
7:00 p.m. (English)
Healing of Memories - Drawing from the Well of Mercy: Our lives these days are marked by war and terror; red states and blue states; broken promises and broken hearts and, for many, unrelenting feelings of guilt. None of these are characteristics of the Father's will for our lives. The scriptures reveal a loving and merciful Lord. The reflection today will turn us to His example to rediscover a model and source of forgiveness and reconciliation.

March 2
Wednesday - Miercoles

Closing of Mission Mass
Misa de Clausura a la Misión
Homily: Departing from the Well: Mission Impossible III?
March 3
Thursday - Jueves
7:00 p.m. (Bilingual)
Departing from the Well - Mission Impossible III?: Is there a sequel to Mission Impossible? Yes! and you're it! A Lenten Mission always leaves us with a few challenges; a few things to think about. Ultimately this means we each have a mission in life and it is this: that the mission of the Church is to continue the Lord's mission of bringing justice and healing to the world. Drawing from the well of God's grace, we are empowered to do great things for the Kingdom.
