St. Francis of Assisi Food Locker
Operation Santa Claus
| On Wednesday December 21, 2005 we held our annual St. Francis of Assisi Food Locker and Operation Santa Claus distribution program for those families with special needs. Below is a collage of pictures of the volunteers who aided us in this community outreach program and just a few of the many participant families. Food baskets and gifts for children who were selected from the Angel Tree are also pictured. Thanks go to our parishioners and organizations that helped to support our community's families with these needs. | ||||

With the help of parishioners, Diana was able to serve 378 men, women and children with the food baskets. 75 families in all. Liz was able to provide 150 children with gifts. The biggest hit with the adults seemed to be the mexican bread and pastries in the pozole baskets. The children were really excited to see the bags overflowing with brightly decorated gifts! The volunteers seemed to have a better time than the recipients! Christmas music filled the room and all were greeted with a warm "Merry Christmas" from our volunteer staff. We had 7 youngsters ranging in age from 11 to 17 who, as volunteers, came to help distribute gifts and food. Fresh fruit, potatoes, and squash were put in boxes and given free to anyone. By the end of the evening, our energy was gone but our hearts were FULL!!!
