Collaboration of Ministries
Outdoor Mass

On September 7, 2003 St. Isidore (Yuba City) and St. Joseph (Marysville) Parishes held their 1st Annual Outdoor Mass in recognition of the two parishes' many ministries. The two parishes have begun collaborative efforts in reaching out to parishioners and the local communities to provide them with service, support and prayer through the ministries (examples of the various ministries can be found in the Parish Directory). The Mass was concelebrated by Sacramento Auxiliary Bishop Richard J. Garcia, assisted by Rev. Manuel Soria (St. Isidore's Pastor), Rev. Bob Copsey (St. Joseph's Pastor). Also participating were Rev. Polycarp Ndugbu and Deacon Ruben Rojo of St. Isidore and Deacon David Perez of St. Joseph. The bilingual service in English and Spanish was at Sam Brannen Park in Yuba City with more than 500 parishioners and visiting officials attending.

The significant message delivered during Mass noted that the Feather River may separate the two communities of Yuba City and Marysville, but the river also nurtures the two cities. And the parish ministries of St. Isidore and St. Joseph build bridges across the river serving all in the communities.

Following are several pictures of this historical event.
