SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Sacramental preparation is necessary for the families who need their children to receive any of the Sacraments. See the parish secretary or the Director of Religious Education of St. Isidore’s Parish.
BAPTISM FOR CHILDREN: A child that has not been Baptized and is seven years old and older can start preparing for Baptism. Preparation for Baptism is a two year program, it will be in conjunction with the First Holy Communion Class.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Preparation is a two-year process. This Sacrament is received at the end Third Grade. Those who are older have to be in the Religious Education Program for two years also, before they receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. All parents are expected to assist in the sacramental preparation of their children and to attend meetings for this purpose.
CONFIRMATION: This is a two-year program. This sacrament is celebrated at a time when young people can make a personal commitment to take an active part in the growth of their faith; Confirmation is received at the end of Eighth Grade. The student must make a free and personal decision. Teens are expected to fully participate in the program to make sure they have sufficient knowledge and understanding of Catholic beliefs, traditions and practice.
NOTE: Teenagers already in High School who have not received First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation will attend a special class for two years. They will receive both sacraments on the same day.
