St. Isidore Parish Religious Education Program seeks to evangelize and form young people of the parish through God's Word and to respond faithfully to that Word through listening, praying, reflecting, sharing and deepening their relationship with God thereby developing the values to become true witnesses, committed to offer services to their parents, families, neighbor and the Catholic Church. We pray and work to spread greater awareness for all vocations especially vocations to the priesthood and religious life to answer the needs in today's church.
St. Isidore Catholic Parish believes that the Religious Education Ministry is sharing in Jesus' mission of evangelization, a mission proclaiming the Reign of God. It is an activity which enables faith to become alive, conscious and active through the light of religious instruction - especially sharing God's Word in Scripture and sharing the tradition of the Catholic Church. This is a life-long process and the work of the entire Catholic Church community.
The Church teaches that the primary responsibility of the faith formation and development of the children rests with the parents and the Church assists the parents in passing on the Catholic faith through the ministry of Religious Education. The catechists share and guide the children, youth and adults in understanding the Catholic Faith. The help build and strengthen their relationship with Jesus and the Church by proclaiming the Word, building a sense of community, leading them to prayer, worship and encouraging a loving service to others through the good example of their own lives.
Our catechists are volunteer teachers. They have answered the important call of the Catholic Church to serve as catechists and have prepared themselves to become evangelizers.
In conclusion, the Religious Education seeks to open the children/youth to discover the live, goodness and beauty of God as reflected in their world and in one further in their faith, understanding of our Catholic tradition, our unity in Christ and the many gifts of the Holy Spirit.
