The Parts of the Mass (3) - Las Partes de la Misa (3)
Catechesis The third part of the Mass is the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The word Liturgy itself means: celebration, joy. With joy we come to Church every Sunday and at every other occasion. The Eucharist is the main and central part of our celebration. It is the moment when, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ offers to the Father the perfect sacrifice for the reconciliation and redemption of all humankind. We present our gifts of bread and wine. They represent all and each one of us and the work of human hands. That means that we also have to offer our own lives to be transform by the Holy Spirit. Bread and wine are gifts received from God in the same way that our lives are. For this reason we have to be always grateful to God for everything He does for us. The word Eucharist means nothing else than “Thanksgiving”. Do we have enough reasons to be thankful? Think for a moment that you are alive, you have family and friends, a house to live, food to eat, health and strength to enjoy a whole world that is waiting for you because it was made just for you!To be continued... |
Catequesis La tercera parte de la Misa es la Liturgia de la Eucaristía. De hecho, la palabra Liturgia significa: celebración. Venimos a Misa con alegría a la Iglesia cada domingo, así como en cualquier ocasión. La Eucaristía es la parte central de nuestra celebración. Es el momento cuando, por el poder del Espíritu Santo, Jesucristo ofrece al Padre el sacrificio perfecto para la reconciliación y redención de la humanidad. Presentamos nuestras ofrendas de pan y vino. Estas representan a toAdos y cada uno de nosotros, así como el trabajo del hombre. Ello significa que también nosotros debemos ofrecer nuestras vidas para ser transformadas por el Espíritu Santo. Recibimos de Dios el pan y vino así como nuestra propia vida. Por esta razón debemos siempre ser agradecidos con Dios por todo lo que Él hace por nosotros. La palabra Eucaristía significa nada menos que “Acción de gracias.” ¿Tenemos razones suficientes para estar agradecidos? Piensa por un momento que estás vivo, que tienes familia y amigos, una casa donde vivir, comida en la mesa, salud y fortaleza para disfrutar todo un mundo que te espera pues fue creado ¡sólo para ti!Continuará... |
