The Parts of the Mass (1)

We go to Mass every Sunday, and usually we see it as one sole activity. But in reality, it has three very important and very well distinguished parts.

· The Introductory Rites
· The Liturgy of the Word
· The Liturgy of the Eucharist

The first part consists only in the welcoming and preparation for such a celebration in our lives.

We all have to put ourselves in the presence of the Lord, that means, to forget about all of our worries and concerns and any kind of activities to be done. Just be present at the Mass, and willing to participate in it. This happens as we make the Sign of the Cross and say: In the name of the Father...

Then, we have to be ready to celebrate the Mass; we have to clean our spirit of every sin as we wash our bodies in the shower before going to any meeting or gathering. We call this part, the Penitential Rite, and it is when we recognize our faults and ask God for forgiveness as we say:  I confess to Almighty God... Now ready for the second part.

Las Partes de la Misa (1)

Cada domingo al ir a Misa, quizá pensamos que es una sola celebración, cuando en realidad la Misa contiene tres partes muy importantes y bien distinguidas una de la otra.

· Ritos Iniciales
· Liturgia de la Palabra
· Liturgia de la Eucaristía

La primera parte consiste en la Bienvenida y la Preparación para tal celebración en nuestras vidas.

Primero tenemos que ponernos en la presencia de Dios; es decir, olvidar todas nuestros problemas y preocupaciones, así como todo lo demás que tenemos que hacer. Pon toda tu atención y participa en la Misa. Esto sucede en cuanto nos santiguamos y decimos: En el nombre del Padre...

Después tenemos que prepararnos para celebrar dignamente la Misa; debemos limpiar nuestro espíritu de todo pecado al igual que limpiamos nuestro cuerpo al bañarnos antes de ir a cualquier reunión. A esta parte la llamamos Rito Penitencial y es cuando reconocemos nuestras faltas y pedimos perdón a Dios al decir: Yo confieso ante Dios todopoderoso... Y ahora listos para la segunda parte de la Misa.
