The Holy Orders (2) - La Ordenación Sacerdotal (2)
Catechesis The Priest is the second level of the Priesthood of Christ. He represents the Bishop in the parish to celebrate the Sacraments, preach the Word of God and administer the temporal goods of the Church. Priesthood is a call to service the People of God with joy, leaving behind family and town to go where the Bishop sends him. Holy Orders is a Sacrament for single men that can be received only once, the same as Matrimony; however, these two Sacraments cannot be received by the same person: the man either gets married or gets ordained. Celibacy (to remain single for life) is required for Holy Orders, not as a law of God but as an option requested by the Church. For many centuries priests and bishops were married. With time the Church saw the need in the priests to dedicate their whole life to the service of the Church and opted for celibacy in priests and bishops; only deacons can be married. My personal experience at home with my family and now as a priest, tells me that there is a great blessing in celibacy. I can tell you that a family deserves a father 100% of his time dedicated to the wife and children, and the community deserves a priest dedicated 100% of his time to them.To be continued... |
Catequesis El Sacerdote es el segundo grado en el Sacerdocio de Cristo. El representa al Obispo en la parroquia para celebrar los Sacramentos, predicar la Palabra de Dios y administrar los bienes temporales de la Iglesia. El Sacerdocio es una llamada a servir al Pueblo de dios con alegría, dejando atrás familia y pueblo para ir a donde el Obispo lo envié. Las Ordenes Sagradas son solo para hombres solteros y puede recibirse una sola vez al igual que el Matrimonio; sin embargo, estos dos Sacramentos no pueden ser recibidos por la misma persona: esté hombre o se case o se ordena. El Celibato (ser soltero de por vida), se requiere para las Ordenes Sagradas no como ley de Dios, sino como disposición de la Iglesia. Por siglos, los sacerdotes y obispos fueron casados. Con el tiempo, la Iglesia viola necesidad de dedicarse completamente a la comunidad y opto por el celibato en sacerdotes y obispos no así en los diáconos casados. Mi experiencia personal con mi familia y ahora como sacerdote, me dice quo el celibato es una gran bendición. Les puedo decir que la familia se merece un papa el 100% de su tiempo y que la comunidad se merece un sacerdote el 100% de su tiempo.Continuará... |
