The Great Amen
The end of the prayer of the Consecration is the Great Amen. The priests already prayed for the Church leaders, the faithful present and absent, the unity of humankind, and the deceased through the intercession of Mary and the Saints. Then he presents to the Father the Body and Blood of Jesus with the words: “Through Him, with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours Almighty Father, for ever and ever. Amen.” What a beautiful way to say that Our Lord Jesus Christ is the center of the Christian life, that we have all our hope in Him; that He is our joy, our strength, our redeemer!

This is the moment to consciously put our trust in God alone: our joys, our dreams, our plans; moreover, our sorrows, our failures, our pains, our frustrations, and even our sins… our whole life trusting that He will never asks from us more that what we can give, because, He has already given us everything.

In other words, to leave our lives in God’s hands knowing that his will be done today and always. Thus we are able to respond with passion and in a loud voice: AMEN.

El Amén Solemne
La consagración termina con el Amén solemne. Ya el sacerdote ha orado por los líderes de la Iglesia, los feligreses presentes y ausentes, la unidad de los cristianos y los fieles difuntos por intercesión de María y los santos. Ahora presenta al Padre el Cuerpo y Sangre de Jesús con estas palabras: “Por Cristo, con Él y en Él, a ti, Dios padre todopoderoso, en la unidad del Espíritu Santo, todo honor y toda gloria, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.” ¡Qué bella forma de decir que Nuestro Señor Jesucristo es el centro de la vida cristiana, que tenemos toda nuestra esperanza en Él; que es nuestra alegría, nuestra fortaleza, nuestro redentor!

Este es el momento de poner conscientemente nuestra confianza sólo en Dios: nuestras alegrías, sueños, planes; pero más aún, nuestras tristezas, fracasos, dolores, frustraciones, e incluso nuestros pecados… toda nuestra vida confiando que Él nunca nos pedirá lo que no podemos darle, porque Él ya nos lo ha dado todo.

En otras palabras, poner nuestras vidas en las Manos de Dios sabiendo que su voluntad se cumplirá hoy y siempre. Así podremos responder con todas nuestras fuerzas: AMEN.
