The Dismissal - La Despedida
Catechesis It has been a long journey walking through the parts of the Mass looking carefully at the details of what we do during the hour that it usually lasts. There are many more thing that we can say, but never enough to completely understand the whole meaning of the Eucharist. We have come to the end of the celebration; we just received Holy Communion and spent some personal time with our Lord. Now the celebrant gives us the blessing in the name of the Holy Trinity as usual, and says the words: “The Mass is ended; go in peace.” Yes, we have to take the peace from God and go back to our life and enjoy it. But never think that the Mass is really ended when actually, this is the beginning of the Eucharist that we have to live for the rest of the week. We have to show to the world that the Lord is truly present in our lives by everything we say, everything we do. It is very important to remind ourselves constantly, at home, work, school, at the park, the store, the movies, and even in bed that we remain in the presence of God, that He is watching over us, taking care of us, to help us “to avoid the near occasion of sin.”To be continued... |
Catequesis Ya hemos recorrido un largo camino a través de las partes de la Misa viendo detenidamente los detalles de lo que hacemos durante el tiempo que ella dura. Hay muchas cosas más qué decir, pero nunca será suficiente para comprender todo el significado de la Eucaristía. Hemos llegado ya al final de la celebración; hemos recibido la Sagrada Comunión y tenido un encuentro personal con nuestro Señor. Ahora el celebrante nos da la bendición en el nombre de la Santísima Trinidad como de costumbre, y nos dice estas palabras: “Podemos ir en paz, la Misa ha terminado.” Sí, tenemos que llevarnos la paz de Cristo y regresar a nuestra vida y disfrutarla. Pero nunca pensemos que de verdad la Misa ha terminado, cuando en realidad apenas comienza la Eucaristía que tenemos que vivir por el resto de la semana. Debemos mostrar al mundo que el Señor está verdaderamente presente en nuestras vidas a través de todo lo que decimos y hacemos. Es muy importante recordarnos constantemente en la casa, trabajo, escuela, en el parque, la tienda, el cine e incluso al ir a dormir que permanecemos en la presencia de Dios, que nos está vigilando y cuidando de nosotros para “evitar las ocasiones de pecado.”Continuará... |
